    Default Spartan 100 rebuild

Bought a 100 for super cheap. It barely runs and it has the old style motor on it. My experience with my spartan 2001 has shown me that repair parts for the old styles are not an option so it looks like I am going for motor replacement.
Does anyone know if the new motor for the spartan 100 will fit the old Trunnion mounting. I know I am going to have to rebuild the switch box with bridge rectifiers for the new motor already. I just want to make sure a new motor will fit the rest of the machine. Thanx!

I'd call AJ Coleman and see if they have an old motor laying around. Stay away from the new 100 motors if you can.

Have you tried throwing a set of brushes in it yet?

I will call Coleman and see...i guess I'll call the spartan rep to check on the retro fit option as well. I havent tried changing brushes. it wont spin forward, and is pretty sluggish in reverse. The gear box is not mounted to the motor with screws and one of the gears is missing a few teeth. I bought it for 100 bucks knowing I was in for a project. I just want to get it running without buying a bunch of stuff that wont work. I figure total motor replacement is my best option.
