    Default Ridgid or My Tana?

I'm looking to upgrade my VU-Rite and get a better camera. Ridgid or My Tana? Any other options I should look at?

Haven't used a Mytana but read a lot of good things. I do own a Ridgid and I'm very happy with it.

I tell ya next camera I get it's not going to be a VU-Rite its good works well no issues but come on man I was told the distance counter was coming out a few weeks after I bought it fast forward 4 years Where is the distance counter??? Thats the future sales deal breaker for me.
If VU-Rite can't follow threw on what they deliver. I'll probably go seesnake next time myself MyTanna is good to but to bulky to lug in and out IMHO.
I still don't like $5,000 monitor prices from ridgid
I don't know what the Easy-Cam is like same idea as the VU-Rite but has a distance counter. IMHO if a camera costs thousands it should have a distance counter!

Cut one of these up and mount it on the camera where the push rod feeds out of it...

It will be more accurate than the encoder that counts drum revolutions like the Ridgid See-Snake especially when you have 200' on a small diameter reel...
It won't be in screen though...

VU-Rite has served it's purpose, but it's not as professional as I want. Some parts of it are great, other are cheaply put together. I just want a better camera.

If I can put in my two cents on Vu-Rite. I bought a camera about a year ago and was assured they were working on the skids for it soon. I recently called and they still are in the works. It seems very simple to make and all other companies seem to have them. They are very slow at anything new.

Just got back from the pumper show and the new cues push camera is pretty cool, I own 3 ridgid set ups and one general. I like the ridgid's till you have to repair them. But it's all about training your guys how to use things right. I think my next push will be a cues or an envirosight. I was way impressed with the quality of their picture and push rod.

I have a GatorCam and have had excellent excellent results with it. Has great picture and I have never missed a locate with it. I bought mine thru Travis Brean he is with Subsurface Soluitions 402-203-4415. I know different parts of the country use different suppliers but you may want to at least talk with him. He was good about coming to me and showing me the in's and out of everything. Just been great to work with. The locates are great and now all the local contractors are calling to locate the sewers before they dig or having me find out what may be wrong (broke or shifted) so they can dig right to the problem.
