Default More pipe bursting and mole pics

Here are some pics using the pipe burster to pull in a pipe for a footing drain.

The sewer had bad bellies so we had to trench it the old fashion way with shovels! But after the sewer was inspected the owner let us put in a french drain because the water table was over the sewer line and it flooded the basement in heavy rains. We already had a good trench but needed to punch a line from the trench to near the edge of the property. We used the mole to set the grade and base hole then used the pipe burster to enlarge the hole and pull in some HDPE as the tight line. Water line 1 foot to the left gas line a foot to the right, came out perfect saved a lot of labor because of hard pan and tree roots and the owner was happy.

Awsome job. Do your guys realize how lucky they are to be doing the type of work they're doing with the equipment you have?

Ben they do and they don't, my guys dig a lot and I dig with them to inspire them but they dig more than me I am the boss, we shovel wet dirt that weights a lot but it has to get done. I have bought every tool to make it easy on them and me: I have power wheelbarrows, excavator, toro dingo with trencher and 30" auger, dump truck, vacuum excavator, hydraulic chipping hammers, air chipping hammers with clay spades to loosen hard pan, I just bought an air trench rescue knife and it kicks ass, with or without the vac! But every day we still dig! My guys are spoiled but they rock when we have to and our jobs have houses so close that I could buy everything and that shovel is still going to be the tool lol. I still snake that's how we get the jobs but some weeks I like a bunch of main drain calls to snake and not dig! I will post some pics of excavation with the air knife it just flat out rocks! Breaks up the biggest rocks and hard pan and then my guys just have to lift the fluff to the surface. The next tool I want is a dirt conveyor belt that takes it to the top of the trench to waiting power wheelbarrows. Rick told me along time ago that it was serious work and not to do it and I didn't listen but I like it!
