Default Spartan 1065 wheel upgrade review

I just added the 8" soft tire upgrade to my 1065. It rolls way easier! The wheels are just right now for stairs with the stair rollers. The only bad thing is they grow the width of the machine near 2". The factory wheels where flush with the frame and drum, now they stick out and may make some bathroom doors not possible. The new wheels come with an adapter plate and that's part of the reason the wheel stance grows. I will try this for a while and give a later total opinion of the upgrade

The first time I rolled it through the grass (having 150' of cable) I would gladly take the trade off and buy a 300 or comparable. Then, like you said stairs, another big plus. I can still get into many bathrooms though...lucky I guess. I don't know that swapping the wheels back and forth is worth it, call me lazy.

see now im not a fan of the aired up tires. I agree its easier to roll through grass or snow but going down stairs my 2001 bounces when it hits the stair treads and I half feel like im gonna lose control of the thing...mabey im the only one though.

Run it in the hallway with an extention pipe to the flange.

Did two jobs today, 1st was about 150 feet through a rough terrain yard and the new wheels where great! I mean really great! 2nd job had stairs and the size of the new wheels was perfect (I did feel it was a little too easy and could maybe get away from a person if not paying attention or tired) But overall I really like the wheel upgrade and my old wheels and axle bolts where in perfect shape to begin with.

OK then I should get rid of my jetter and buy another excavator? Some people do not have the money for a new sewer so you can't just make blanket choices for them, our job is to get them back online if possible.

It does roll nicely in gravel and grass - did your old wheels wear out or did you just want to try the pneumatic tires out?
