    Default Ridgid micro drain?

Any up dates good? Crap? I'm asking because I'm thinking of buying one next year. Had a handful of jobs where I could have used it the need keeps popping up. I don't need the micro explorer hand held because I have the monitor off my Ridgid compact black and white. Dumping ad size is going to free up funds to buy one.
And it would come in handy inspecting toilet traps or pulling some nasty toilets

I really like mine, I use it all the time, the only problem ive had in 2 years is there is something in the progamming of the that makes the screen go black if you abruptly push or jerk the camera, my buddies micro reel does the exact same thing and its done it since day one but its not really a problem and I also dont like the auto shut down due to inactivity, every time Im tryin to locate it shuts off on me, but thats probly in the programing of the monitor.

John, do you think by using my compact 5 inch black and white monitor will prevent the screen from going black or shutting down?

I'm thinking of getting a mini camera also. Been alot of jobs I wish I had one because the VU-Rite is too large to fit. 2" pipes, some 3", getting through 3" san tees off water closets etc.

Does anybody else make a GOOD mini/micro camera? Vu-rite? I have the micro explorer handheld and would love the microdrain but of course with Ridgid comes $$$ and I've heard some negative things about the microdrain. Maybe all the issues have been addressed?

Also, for those of you that have a microdrain, do you charge your regular camera fee to use it? Charge a lesser price? Use it as an extra tool that makes you more efficient and not charge for it? I should have made this a poll.

I guess I didn't realize there were 2 different models. I just looked at Ridgid's site and saw they actually have 3. What's up with the nanoreel? It says it'll go through 1" lines!! Sounds too thin and delicate for me but I was surprised.

I charge a little less to use my micro drain than my big sewer lateral camera but usually once you get the camera in a drain the customer sees all the grease/sludge build up so you end up adding a jet job to the bill, and the only problem ive had with my micro drain is sometimes if you abruptly push or pull the push rod or bump the camera head into a bend or object in the pipe the screen goes black for a couple of seconds then goes back to normal and ive been running my micro drain for almost 2 years.

That sounds more like a termination issue to me...
