    Default How's your area doing?

Just looking to see if the economy is getting better?
Were I'm located I'm kind of out of the loop not seeing what's going on.
We are still losing businesses and small stores and shops.
Heck I went into my local Radio Shack to buy some RCA cables 2 days later their GONE!

    Default no different than usual

I live in northeast corner of Michigan's lower peninsula, nothing is any different than it usually is.Our unemployment is always above 20 percent,if anything it's easier to survive the ups and downs when you don't notice them.it's just an every day thing.here in Michigan we have suffered from this bad economy for much longer than the rest of you.For every foriegn car sold we lose jobs.It is catching up with the rest of you now.It is a crying shame when every other car on the road is foriegn made.

If the American mfrs would make consistent quality, then they'd get more buyers. The economy is made so that everything has to be replaced sooner than it should. I read that in China, the symbol of quality is buick. I wonder if the Chinese moan about buy our "foreign built" cars?

Default Not so good in Southern California

I am a gc in So-Cal, we are dying on the vine here. Almost everyday I get about 4 phone calls form different tradesman that I have worked with for 20 years asking if there is any work. I know that the restaurant business is down 40% across the board. I dont see an end soon for the recession down here but am trying to be optimistic and hitting the pavement everyday trying to get new work.
